Health warnings US: A large popcorn could contain as much as 1,800 calories .The US Food Standards Agency is also concerned that portion sizes offered to filmgoers are getting out of control and have called on cinemas to act to tackle the obesity crisis.
It follows claims that a large bag of sweet popcorn could contain an alarming 1,800 calories - the equivalent of a large curry with sides and two bottles of drinks.A large salted popcorn did not fare much better than the sweet variety, containing 1,779 calories - the same as a three course meal of pizza, garlic bread and tiramisu.'There is a myth that popcorn is calorie-free, but that is not the case. قامت ادارة الاغذية والعقاقير الامريكية بأعلان قرارها الفرض على اصحاب دور السينما والمسارح في لوس انجلوس بجعلهم يذكرون على كل كيس فيشار العلامات الغذائية والسعرات الحرارية, حيث تبين من دراسة علمية ان تناول كيس كبير من الفيشار يساوي بسعراته الحرارية ما يعادل ثلاث مرات من الوجبات في المطاعم السريعة , وقد قامت الرابطة الوطنية بالضغط على الادارة لاعفائها من هذا القرار قائلين ان دور السينما ليست مطاعم وبالتالي ليسس ضروريا وضع الغلامات الغذائية فرواد السينما يأتون لمشاهدة الفيلم ويعود سبب رفضهم انهم يكسبون من وجبة الفيشار اكثر من استفادتهم ببيع البطاقة. المصدر
